Nexus is a peer-to-peer network that improves the speed, scalability, security and availability of current blockchain protocols. The project achieves this mainly through the use of a quantum-resistant 3D blockchain in combination with communication satellites in space. Nexus founder Colin Cantrell wants to "decentralize" decentralization by taking it out of the control of the government or the mining monopoly. Nexus uses three consensus mechanisms to form a three-dimensional blockchain. The team argues that three different mechanisms reduce miner centralization and allow more efficient scaling on the chain.
