Lisk logo Lisk - LSK

Designed and developed with German participation, Lisk is one of the more versatile, perhaps the most versatile blockchain technologies on the market. Characteristics are decentralization, modularity and conceptual openness of the design. Lisk demonstrates impressively that "forks" can be the rule instead of the exception and productive instead of harmful. Lisk want a decentralized application platform offer (Decentralized application platform), as opposed to, for example,Ethereum Functions that go beyond the pure currency function are not considered as Smart contractsor dApps, but a fork of the for each new applicationBlockchainprovides. Specifically, this means that in addition to the main blockchain (so-called mainchain ), any number of secondary blockchains (so-called sidechains ) can exist, which are branched off as forks from the mainchain and which continue to run independently next to it. The mainchain thus connects all sidechains to form a coherent system, while all Lisk-based blockchain applications are implemented through sidechains.

How to stake Lisk?

Lisk uses Delegated Proof of Stake (DPoS), an algorithm that was first developed for the BitShares blockchain platform, to manage the blockchains (i.e. main and sidechains) . In contrast to the conventional proof of stake , in which the height of the stakes of the individual participants decides on their proportional right to generate new blocks, so-called delegates are elected by all participants on the basis of the height of their stakes . These then take on the block generation and validation of the blockchain in a representative manner.
